Linear elements that define the space, made of granite

Granite curbs, steps, and palisades

Curbs, steps, and palisades are granite elements that organize and finish a space—they separate the roadway from the sidewalk, mark the entrance to a building, and outline flower beds, terraces, and garden paths. At Świat z Granitu, we manufacture them from solid Swedish granite at our stone processing plant in Reptowo near Szczecin (West Pomeranian Voivodeship, between Szczecin and Stargard). It is a material that combines structural strength with a prestigious appearance and durability that lasts for generations.

Granite curbs, steps, and palisades

We are a Polish, family-owned stoneworking company that has been in business since 1988 and is now run by the second generation. We have our own fleet of machinery—saws and wire saws for cutting blocks, splitting machines, automatic polishing machines, and a CNC machine tool—which allows us to cut, split, and finish every piece ourselves. We select the surface finish based on its intended use: flamed and bush-hammered where slip resistance is important (road curbs, outdoor stair treads), and polished or honed where a presentable appearance is key (entrance stairs, baseboards).

As many as 75% of our projects involve custom manufacturing—unusual lengths, curves, radii, profiles, and dimensions tailored to specific designs. We provide comprehensive support to our clients: from design and visualization, through production, to installation. If you have an unconventional idea for a surface, staircase, or edging—tell us about it, and we’ll turn it into a durable granite fixture.

Why It's Worth It

Why Swedish granite?.

Swedish granite since 1988

We work with solid Swedish stone that has low water absorption and high frost resistance—a material designed to withstand outdoor conditions, pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and to last for generations.

In-house machinery fleet

We perform cutting, splitting, polishing, peening, and flame treatment in-house (CNC, splitting machines, automatic polishing machines, flame treatment). This gives us full control over precision, repeatability, and turnaround time.

Custom Production (75% custom)

Curved curbs, palisades with non-standard cross-sections, single-piece block steps, custom-designed profiles—we manufacture non-catalog items tailored to your specifications.

From Design to Installation

One company handling the entire process: design and visualization, manufacturing in Reptowo near Szczecin, and on-site installation. One contractor, one party responsible for the final result.

Good advice

Installation tip: Curbs and palisades are set into a concrete foundation with a backing (typically concrete of approximately C12/15 grade), ensuring even joints and the required elevation above the surface. For stairs and walkways, it’s a good idea to choose a flamed or pebbled surface in advance—this ensures slip resistance in wet and freezing conditions. Swedish granite, with its low water absorption, withstands freeze-thaw cycles well, making it ideal for our coastal climate in West Pomerania. We’ll advise you on selecting the right element, finish, and installation method, and we’ll handle the installation if needed.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

What are the dimensions of granite curbs?

We most commonly use 15×30×100 cm road curbs, 15×22 cm ramp curbs, 12×25 cm retaining blocks, and 8×25×100 and 8×30×100 cm sidewalk curbs. We also manufacture curved (radial) curbs and custom-sized elements for specific projects—as many as 75% of our products are custom-made.

What material do you use to make stairs and palisades?

All components are made of solid Swedish granite in the following varieties: Vanga (red), Bohus Gray, Bohus Brown, Bjärlöv/Champagne, Gneis Halmstadt, Tranås, and Swedish Black. This stone has low water absorption and high frost resistance, making it suitable for outdoor use and for withstanding foot and vehicular traffic.

Are outdoor granite stairs slip-resistant?

Yes. For safety outdoors, we use flame-treated or pebbled finishes, which give the surface a matte, rough texture that improves traction, even when the steps are wet or frosty. On formal staircases, we combine a smooth, polished surface with a non-slip strip along the leading edge.

Do you make custom-sized curbs, stairs, and palisades?

Yes—that’s our specialty. About 75% of our projects involve custom manufacturing: non-standard lengths, curves, profiles, palisade cross-sections, and block steps carved from a single piece of granite. We handle the entire project, from concept and visualization, through production in Reptowo, to on-site installation.

How much do granite curbs, stairs, and palisades cost, and how can I get a quote?

We do not publish price lists, as the cost depends on the type of granite, dimensions, finish, quantity, and scope of installation. We prepare each quote individually—simply send your design or a description of your needs to handel@swiatgranitu.pl or call +48 501 474 741 (Marcin Korzeniewicz).

Where is your facility located, and what area do you serve?

Our stone processing plant and office are located at Reptów 88B, 73-108 Kobylanka, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, between Szczecin and Stargard. We fulfill orders for individual customers, businesses, and institutions—from gardens to city squares.
